Sample Editorial AI Disclosure Form
A reference single-paragraph disclosure that publications can require from contributors instead of a binary yes/no checkbox.
A binary AI disclosure checkbox no longer produces useful information. Publications that have replaced it with a short paragraph report sharper editorial conversations and more honest contributor relationships. Sample prompt for the contributor form:
"In a sentence or two, describe how AI was used in the piece you are submitting. If a verifiable cognitive audit exists for the piece, include the attestation ID. We do not penalize AI use. We do penalize authors who cannot describe what they used and what they decided."
