Guidance credits are how RedInkAI measures usage on the Free plan. Each time you ask for document-specific guidance (a structure question, a pacing check, a clarity review) that uses one credit. You start with 25 free credits — enough to take one full essay or paper from blank page to a finished, attestable artifact. Premium and Professional plans include unlimited guidance.
An Authorship Packet is a project-level record you can share or export. It combines your live InkTrail — every question you asked, every decision you made inside RedInkAI — with any prior drafts and external AI transcripts you chose to disclose. Each imported material is hashed (SHA-256) at upload and logged on the InkTrail with an honest evidentiary-weight label (Pre-InkTrail, Concurrent, Post-InkTrail, or External AI — user-reported). The packet surfaces the provenance transparently. It is available on every plan, including Free.

If your school uses a non-.edu domain (some international institutions do), email redinkaistudio@redinkai.com and we will verify manually. Honor system: if you graduate, the plan drops to Premium pricing at your next renewal.
